When you play video poker online or in a land based casino, you can find out the machine odds or percentages before you start playing; however, when you start playing you wonder if those numbers are simply that, numbers put there to make you think the odds are true. The good news is that machines are based on random number generators and that they are playing with a standard deck of cards which means that the odds are the same as they would be in any other deck of cards. The percentage of payout can vary from one machine to another but over time it will pay out what it says, it simply takes time.

So, if the percentage will even out over time and the odds are the same as they are in any regular deck of cards, it would lead one to believe that if you play long enough you will win. This is true and not true. You and only you can decide when you have played as much as you can afford to play. You should never make that decision based on the machine being due. Even though the games are based on odds, there are no rules on when those odds are going to pan out.
